Let Food Be Your Medicine

 

When I began running yoga retreats in 2014 I discovered I felt as passionately about the food as I did the yoga, and believed it to be an equally important element. My love for food began as a yearning to understand its very beginnings, so I volunteered on an organic farm in Italy back in 2009. It took me over half a decade after that to venture in to the kitchen, and I now love to make food for special events & private groups with an emphasis on vibrant fresh vegetables & generous salads.

I love serving dishes that people share together, Whenever I can, I include elements that invite eating with your hands, like freshly made flatbreads. I hope the food I make brings to delight to those who eat it.

When cooking I am influenced by the health benefits & medicinal effects of the plants, spices & herbs, and I believe the more delicious it is the more we can absorb those benefits.

I believe that food which has been grown or produced with care tastes better and does more for the people who eat it as well as the people who make it.

I love uncovering the magic of traditional methods of processing and sharing them when possible, for example making our own butter or simple cheeses like ricotta, labneh, or working with fermentation and pickling. Thanks to the Fumbally who taught me these techniques.
